i finally changed my blogskin! it took me SO long to find a skin that gives you a decent window to post in, most of them squeeze your entries into ridiculously small columns.
asean ball is coming up on may 8th and i have nothing to wear!! today i haunted the aisles of chaddy trying in vain to find something that fits into the 'winter solstice' theme - gold, black, white or dark blue.. and no luck.
i know some of you are horribly opposed to garfunkle but i found a decent black dress there, no complaints except for the sheer
blackness of it all. hmm 260. i'll take a picture and you guys can let me know what you think.
today i sat in the car and endured the most testosterone-ridden conversation i might possibly have encountered.

and another guy who jumped into a pool of piranhas and emerged with one hanging off his crotch.
i probably shouldn't be amused by things like that, but i am.

update on the diet - it officially failed. had the yummiest french toast today, hongkong style with peanut butter and maple syrup oozing over it. and before that i did some baking and made a few pastry-puff thingoes.

im back from the depths of the dead <.<
those mid-semesters i was busy cramming my ass off for are officially OVER :) wee!!
the good news: i passed eco despite being a lil high before the test (cowboy! weee LOL ), and i passed marketing too.
as for ILR, i cringe just thinking about it so it won't be good. after the test i was so traumatised i walked into a couch.
in front of the second half of the class. -__-
studied at state once - ohmygoodness. walked out onto swanston in the middle of some scary chinese protest (something to do with the tibet issue) but yh. saw ivan standing in the middle of swanston street rugged up in full china pride with a flag painted on his face guiding the protest. <.< scurried away fast coz don't want my friends to think i know weird people. LOL.
oh and - dessert house on swanston = WORST.CUSTOMER.SERVICE.EVER
matt didn't get a chair throughout lunch.
we had no utensils half the dishes we ordered were wrong.
waitress was appallingly rude. bill was wrong.
bill came back wrong a second time.
and yeh.. such a bad impression of the place.
i've been so sleep deprived that i think nowadays i do majority of my sleeping in lectures and my cramming in the wee hours of the morning. that's if i show up to my lectures. lately it hasn't been uncommon for me to wake up and have to pry my eyes open with my fingers like pliers coz theyre stuck when i go to sleep with my contacts on. (grossest.thing.everrr) either that, or i find my face smushed in the middle of a giant textbook. *rubs nose* maybe that's where all the pimples are coming from.. we have a new lecturer for eco and i swear he's had a go at everyone (asians, jews..etc) lol :p i missed half the jokes though coz i took a slight nap <.<
went shopping on fri and this mornin'. congratulations are in order! first to amy and neil for their engagement, then congrats to melonar hands for passing her P's, and happy birthday to zhen for her 18th! i'm losing those underage buddies fast.
on thursday night elena and i decided we were going to go on a healthy eating diet plan for the dinners/balls coming up.
on friday morning armed with a small container of fruit and a great deal of resolve i marched into uni.
by 1.00 i had attempted to peel a plum with my bare hands and gave up. decided to place it upside down where i'd bitten it in the hopes that someone else would coming along and eat it.
by 2.00 charles and matt were munching into some prawn crackers. dearly regretting my decision now. onwards with the fruit.
by 5.00 i was starving and ready to kill someone. ate the half-bitten plum out of sheer desperation in the mens changing room at myers -__- lost my appetite when i saw michaels drenched socks. *gag*
by 8.00 we were seated at lygon. i decided to take a quick peek in the Original Lolly Store.
... <.< ..and yeah, end of story LOL.
don't even wanna talk about what i had for dinner.

anyway i digress, went to the night market at melb uni awhile ago. to my delight there was a prata stall and satay stall selling stay for $2 a stick!! HORROR!!
!! it was at that point i wished i could teleport back to singapore for 30c satay from the hawker center that tasted better anyway.
lots of food and a lot of fun :) i love food fairs and carnivals, it's the atmosphere of walking around in the bustle and elbows and all the exciting smells in the air that makes it so fun.
mandy's baptism was on saturday. it was very meaningful, mostly because i could relate to what she said in her testimony. and it felt reassuring to know that once she had strayed from her path and yet there she was standing there, getting baptised, taking that leap of faith that i so want to do and lack the courage to yet. i'm not alone.!
so maybe one day it'll be me, but for now, yesterday's baptism was certainly encouraging.
oh right, and i'm also on 3 now

STUDYING = student + dying put together! whoever said this should be duly revered coz i think that statement is more apt than anything any old farty philosopher ever said in the past.
my heads spinning in a whirl of marketing terms and microeconomics! pretty soon (by tuesday) it'll be over and then my head will be newly spinning with more contract law and more ILR studying.
*wails* i dont care as long as graduate
this weekends been relatively QUIET.
the other day we went to the park to chill and study. well, we didnt end up studying much. twas a pretty day of feeling the sun settle over my skin, soaking up the last days of warmth, hearing the quiet peeps of the birds in the trees way way wayyyyyyyy above, dogs wagging their tails happily with not a care in the world, frolicking in the grass drawing on each other ;p
also alot of pigging out LOL. yesterday was officially the end of daylight savings, and true enough darkness crept over the sky by fiveish and the cold began to sink in. :( so long sweet summer!
autumn has arrived and brought with it falling leaves, the sharp smell of crisp morning air, red and gold tinted surroundings everywhere i look, fall fashion: boots, coats, scarves, beanies, and the feeling of melancholy.
i love AUTUMN. maybe i should name my kid autumn :] thats pretty.

anyway, finally the end of an exhausting week.
i didn't do much 'cept scurry around all week getting textbooks and get blown about by the ghastly winds (or should i say, the GALE that swept through melbourne in the past couple of days?)
i got blown into a door! a massive tree got uprooted and collapsed, and one of the buildings at uni got evacuated.
i also got blown into the campus center amidst leaves, twigs, dust, and other glamorous things.
lol. monash is falling apart.
hotpot tonight! was heaps of fun, i think me and phoebe are a bad combo together ;p our combined iq decreases to under a 100.
i actually said something really dumb today that i hope nobody deigns to repeat ever again T_T
anyway yeh LOL. mm heading off to bed. the weekend ahead is study-filled. if i manage to, i'll squeeze in the latest jodi picoult book i've borrowed.
and awww. love is in the air :p
